LOUISIANA

This week, Lucy the WonderSock went to visit her friends Annie and Kristin in Louisiana! She had so much fun touring around. Lucy got the chance to sun herself along the banks of the great Mississippi river and work on her tan. Then she met up with a Mardi Gras indian named Wild Tchoupitoulas of the Wild Magnolias, and he named Lucy "Wild Headband!" Later she got to hang out and catch a ride on one of the carriage mules in the French Quarters, and soak up some more rays by a fun fountain. (someone get that girl some sunscreen!) Finally, Lucy met up with some street musicians for a quick jam session before chatting with them about the negative effects of BSL and asking for their support! Now, Lucy is on her way to California to soak up some more sun (seriously. sunscreen.) and hang out with her west coast friends! Thank you Kristin and Annie for taking Lucy this week!

FLORIDA- Pensacola

Lucy had a crazy fun filled week with one of her best buddies Frankie and his mommy, Teresa! (check out Frankie on facebook at:  http://www.facebook.com/Frankieimalovernotafighter?ref=ts) First, Lucy was able to attend a Mardi Gras parade where she earned lots of beads, made new friends, and helped her friends Frankie and Hawk educate people about how much fun "tough" dog breeds can be! She even got her own Mardi Gras mask (pink of course!) to wear in the parade. Then, she took a trip to the beach to soak up some rays and check out the surf! She visited the haunted Pensacola lighthouse, and then headed to the Naval Air Station Museum to tour! The sign said "No Pets" but did that stop her? NO WAY!! As it turns out, nobody can resist the cuteness of Lucy the WonderSock, not even the military. She got to see many planes, space modules, a hot air balloon, and a rescue pod! She even got to sit in a Blue Angels cockpit! Lots of people asked about the little Sock Dog hanging out in the museum, and it was a great opportunity to educate people about Lucy's mission to end BSL! Thank you Teresa and Frankie for showing Lucy such a WONDERBULL time in Pensacola and helping advocate for misunderstood breeds! Next week, Lucy will be visiting beautiful Louisiana, so stay tuned!

FLORIDA-Tito & Scar, Pibbles to the rescue, & Wag Schwag

Lucy had a FABULOUS time in Florida! First she spent a week with Tito & Scar (check them out on facebook - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tito-Scar-our-Pit-Bull-Heroes/204597792904380?ref=ts .) She made many new friends, people and pets! She got her picture taken with a sweet dog named Jade (which also happens to be the REAL Lucy's mom's nickname!) and went to an event with Wag Schwag! She even got her own Schwag. Next she spent a week with Pibbles to the Rescue and got to meet some AMAZING pittie ambassadogs. She went to an event with Pibbles to the Rescue and helped raise awareness about pitties, as well as showing off some very cute adoptable dogs! (see them at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Pibbles-to-the-Rescue/156975217688759?ref=ts ) All in all, it was a great couple of weeks!

Tennessee

Lucy had an AMAZING trip in Tennessee with Caution the Gentle Giant and her mom, Nancy. She got to go to the mountains, soak up some sun by the dam, view the beautiful scenery, and hang out with Caution. She also got to go visit a confederate camp, The stones are engraved with names of soldiers and how they were killed. There usually is a sign up with information on how the soldiers were killed and what the engravings on the rock say. And they usually have pamphlets up about snakes, bears, hiking and how to be safe in the mountains. But they must of taken them down for the winter. The confederate soldiers were killed by the militians and not Union soldiers. After we visited the confederate camp, we headed down the mountain to watch the sunset. She also got to meet some Donkeys and a Mule on the property where Caution lives! To stop BSL, Lucy helped Nancy and Caution write positive pit bull messages on post-it notes and posted them around. Then she signed a petition (like the one for Lennox) to help another dog in a dire situation.
A big Thank You to Nancy and Caution for taking Lucy in for a week, and helping her on her journey to end BSL!
